Questions about add-on development

You can get help and support by posting to Mozilla's community forum or Stack Overflow. You can also talk with us on Matrix in the Add-ons room (for general development questions) or in the add-on reviewers room (for questions about an add-on review).

Public meetings

You can also attend Mozilla’s public meetings and events for extension developers. Details of these events are found in the Developer Communication Calendar.

Get involved in the community

Help make the add-on ecosystem a better place by being a contributor, from assisting with documentation to fixing bugs and more. For more information, please see current contribution opportunities.

You can also propose changes to the API, both for additions or changes, and assistance with API development. A good place to start is to get familiar with Mozilla’s vision for the API and policies for developing the API.

If you are ready to start contributing to the API, you can onboard to the WebExtensions codebase and read our hacking guide. If you would like to create a new API, either for yourself or for uplift to Firefox, please see WebExtensions Experiments.

Please file new bugs for the WebExtensions API on Bugzilla. You can also use Bugzilla to search for existing bugs filed to the WebExtensions product.
